A thinker, philatelist, PC technician, administrator, collector of shellacs, expert connoisseur of shortwave receivers, tube radio expert and operator of websites about radio: this was KLAUS PETER PUTH (former „Voice of DX“).

about his nationwide fame and popularity: The administrator Puth is the author of two books on radio remote reception, former board member of a DX club and for more than 5 decades with the observation and recording of receptions on long, medium and short wave (DX-ing), where he was able to record more than 12,000 receptions as a highlight in his logbook.

Several honorary certificates – for confirmed written contacts to 210 countries – as well as 15,000 friends & followers in the social media crown this hobby career, documented by over 3,500 QSL cards, both from radio amateurs and from radio stations; Klaus P. Puth has published part of it in web blogs.

His lively correspondence has even attracted the attention of the East German secret service. However, several very good press contacts are the positive consequence of this! Almost every model of shortwave receivers available in Europe was tested by him. Almost 500 videos, mostly with pause signals from international stations, are available to the audience.

In January 2013, Klaus Puth was to be nominated for a state prize for services to international understanding, but a severe stroke forced him to retire from the ongoing competition proceedings. — This website can only be supplemented slowly due to the obstruction of the administrator (see previous sentence). Every reader is called upon to inform himself about remote reception (DX) on the web.

The highlight of this hobby was and is the letter of the heard station (nowadays often via e-mail) and the written confirmation of the sending station. This confirmation is usually in postcard format and is called QSL card, but can also be in the form of a QSL letter. A special distinction of the diligent listener is the sending of a station pennant by the written station.

At the end of this introduction, a quote: Remote reception is direct international understanding, across all borders, non-commercial, personal, with integrated interests such as friendship cultivation, further education, research, self-education, scientific technology and passion for collecting (QSL cards).
